Tim is a high school teacher and a trained Advanced Developmental Coach with the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). He has been coaching OVA Club Volleyball since 2002 with Ganaraska Wolves, Durham Attack, and Northumberland Breakers at the 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U, and 16U levels. As a seasoned high school coach, Tim has taken many teams to OFSAA Championships.

When Tim is not coaching volleyball or spending time with his family, he enjoys coaching javelin and discus throwers. Tim enjoys cycling, weight and performance training, the outdoors, and volunteering in the special needs community. Tim also volunteers with his church in the migrant worker community.

Tim has a passion for developing the talent of young athletes through intensity, mentorship, and mental and physical training. His primary goal as a coach is to foster a love of the game and to help build lifelong volleyball players.

Tom Windsor – 14U Girls Stingrays Head Coach

Tom is a retired intermediate teacher from the KPR school board. When he retired, the board awarded Tom the Lifetime Achievement and Dedication to Sports award to thank him for his commitment to sport through out his 32 year teaching career. Also, the school Tom retired from in Bowmanville, renamed the physical education award in his honour. He has coached at the club volleyball level before with the Ganaraska Wolves taking his team to a 7th place finish at the Provincial level. Tom has coached many school teams to District Championships in various team sports. His interest in coaching with the Breakers Club was sparked by the opportunity to coach his granddaughter’s U13 team.

When Tom is not coaching on the volleyball court, he can be found playing and coaching Pickleball on those courts.  Tom has finished 3rd in Mixed Doubles at the National level and has won Gold at the Provincial level as well.

Tom has a passion for developing athletes to be the best they can be in their sport and to grow in a fun, productive, and positive environment to become lifelong athletes.

Jermaine Jacobs - 15U Girls Sharks Head Coach

Jermaine Jacobs
Jermaine is a lifelong volleyball enthusiast who has played the sport at both the amateur and college levels. His passion for volleyball is matched only by his love for basketball and track and field, making him a versatile athlete. Jermaine is dedicated to giving back to the community and is excited to share his enthusiasm for volleyball as the Head Coach of the girls' team.

Pat Linton - 14U Girls Sharks Assistant Coach

Pat has had a love for the sport of volleyball his whole life.  Following high school, where he played and coached volleyball, he has continued to play in recreational/competitive leagues. His interest in coaching was sparked after watching his daughter play her first year with the Breakers and helping out with the team.  He believes in promoting an environment where young athletes can learn and grow in a fun and positive environment.

Hayli Moore - 14U Girls Sharks Assistant Coach

Drew Hansen - 16U Girls Barracudas Head Coach

This is Drew's second season of coaching with the Northumberland Breakers. For the 2024-2025 season he assistant coached the 18UG girls team and 15UG girls team.
As an athlete, he has led various teams, including those at regional games, club ball with the Ganaraska Wolves and Durham Attack, and at Fleming College. His passion for coaching emerged early on as he helped coach younger teams while playing for the Ganaraska Wolves and later during summer camps at Durham College.
He enjoys supporting the athletes he coaches to not only develop their technical skills but also to understand the intricacies of the game. Drew is dedicated to fostering the growth of athletes in their individual capacities, as teammates, and as human beings.

Nick DeFreitas - 16U Barracudas Assistant Girls Coach

Nick was born and raised in Bowmanville. Growing up, he enjoyed playing most sports and is a firm believer that playing a variety of sports is best for developing a more complete athlete.
He has been coaching volleyball at the club and high school level for approximately 15 years and has experience coaching from 14U to 18U in beach and indoor. Some of his coaching highlights include going to OFSAA for high school on multiple occasions, coaching with various Team Ontario programs including Ontario Summer Games and coaching with a Team Canada program.
He is looking forward to joining the Breakers organization and helping with the 14U team.

Brandon has been part of the volleyball community for his entire life. He has consistently dedicated many long days to the improvement of not just his own athletic skills but to the development of his coaching as well.

Brandon is a former member of Northumberland Breakers Volleyball Club who started his young volleyball career at the age of 14U to 16U which he won gold at nationals during his time with the club in his first season of rep volleyball.

When Brandon is not coaching volleyball, you can find him on the court/beach playing and improving his love for the game of volleyball.

Dylan Hunt - U17 Girls Riptide Assitant Coach

Dylan is a former high-performance player, now working in tech sales, who has turned his passion for sport and development towards helping the next generation of volleyball players achieve their goals.

Dylan was a member of the Aurora Storm Volleyball Club (winning two provincial championships), Team Ontario Beach Member, Scarborough Solars Award winner, and played volleyball for four years at Queen's University where he won the OUA Championship in his final year.

When Dylan is not coaching volleyball, you can find him traveling to find new places to surf, spending some time outdoors with his dog or out on the water at the cottage.

Sherene Einarsson - U17 Girls Riptide Assitant Coach

Welcome back Sherene! She has a long history with Breakers. She coached Breakers Beach Volleyball 2007-2010, played Breakers for 5 years. She helped lead the Breakers sports performance camp 2009/2010.

Sherene also played AAA highschool volleyball. She played OCAA at Loyalist College for 2 years.

We are thrilled to have this experienced Breakers Alumni back to share her passion and skills with our athletes!

Steve McGilvray - U18 Girls Tsunami Head Coach

Steve grew up playing high school and club volleyball in Peterborough, where he developed a lifelong love for the sport. He has coached with Durham Attack, spent two seasons with Peterborough Thunder, and has coached at Olympia Sports Camp, helping young athletes grow their skills and passion for the game. He believes in creating a fun, positive environment while developing technical skills and the drive to compete. Volleyball continues to be a big part of his life, especially when playing with his two kids.

Steve enjoys playing pickleball in the summer and skiing with his family in the winter.

Steve is excited to bring his experience and enthusiasm to the Northumberland Breakers club this season.

Carlos Reyes - Head Coach (Team to be assigned)

Carlos Reyes, is an experienced and certified development coach. Carlos began his coaching career as an Assistant with the Fleming College Knights women’s volleyball program where he assisted both the men’s and women’s teams, bringing strong technical and tactical experience to each program while helping players build confidence, technical skill, and game knowledge.

He also served as the assisting coach with the Trent University Excalibur men’s team.
Carlos is also credited with coaching the Peterborough Thunder (PVC) and its 17U and 18U girls’ teams consecutively. Under his guidance, each of the Thunder teams significantly improved their year-end ranking and provincial results. During his time with PVC, Carlos also acted as a fill-in coach for the 16U and 17U boys’ teams where each team achieved their best-ever results
in OVA competition.

Carlos was part of the Team Ontario Academy Coach program during the pandemic.
In addition, Carlos is a Coach Leader at Camp Madawaska each summer, where he focuses on helping athletes build camaraderie, confidence, and skill development.
Recently Carlos coached with the Durham Rebels volleyball club in Oshawa.
